Two years after the exhibition „We have lived the 50s” comes the next episode of this historical exhibition series directed by the Göcseji Museum of Zalaegerszeg. We don’t display political events but material culture and objects, pictures of private and public scenes.
What happened in this consolidated decade of socialist political system in Zala county? People lived their life in their modern style town homes, the youth has discovered and listened to the western rock and beat music. Visitors can observe (or remember) the interieurs of grocery and barber-shop, posters and advertisements on the street, and admire the Pannónia motorcycle produced still in Hungary. The old-fashioned cinema hall with the newsreel show recalls the propaganda and mood of contemporary town and village cinemas of the region.
